"We are excited that the House can return to its important work."
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Potato Council (NPC) welcomed today’s election of Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Congratulations to Speaker Johnson,” said NPC’s 2023 President RJ Andrus of Idaho. “We are excited that the House can return to its important work. Speaker Johnson’s encouraging statements about the Farm Bill and restarting the appropriations process are positive signs for America’s potato growers.”
NPC, which represents the interests of U.S. potato growers on federal legislative, regulatory, environmental and trade issues, is committed to working with Congress to advance a bipartisan Farm Bill that invests in the competitiveness and sustainability of U.S. potato growers and the entire the U.S. specialty crop industry.
